Vilma Määttänen (b.1989) is a visual artist, who uses diverse mediums in her practice from painting, moving image to sculpture. She lives and works in Karjalohja and Helsinki and has been part of building a moving, transforming structure, called the Moving Castle together with PerViktor Hjalmarsson since 2009. Her recent practice is focused on investigating place. Specifically, alternative way of building and the materiality of painting through beeswax, tempera and pigment making. Määttänen is finishing her studies in the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, were she has been studying in the painting department.
